Investigators determined the girl was on an interstate train heading south and contacted police in North Carolina, who were able to locate her on a train, unharmed, and took her into protective custody, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Morris County Sheriff James Gannon said.
The girl was first reported missing on Saturday, July 27, authorities said. An initial search utilizing K-9’s and a drone was unsuccessful, authorities said.
